Schecter Bass

Schecter Guitar Reasearch is the full company name and making great sounding guitars and basses is their game. It all started back in 1976 when David Schecter opened his guitar repair shop in California. He supplied every type of replacement part that a guitar or bass needed. In fact he soon realized that he had enough replacement parts to start his own line of awesome guitars. He would take all of the best parts of each major guitar brand and like a mad scientist, create a Frankenstein like guitar that was unique, played great and sounded even better.

Schecter Guitar Research has had it's share of ups and downs over the years. It went from limited custom guitars in California to mass production in Texas and then back to it's roots in California making a limited number of custom guitars.
