Traditional bass guitar necks
are made from wood and wood can have it's share of problems.
It can warp. There are dead spots and some woods just lack
any sustain at all. A bass guitar with a carbon fiber neck
would not have any of these problems.
Geoff teamed up with Rick Turner, who had been busy starting
a company that was known for making some of the best bass
guitars on the planet. Geoff's carbon fiber neck idea along
with Rick's exotic wood bass guitar bodies merged and the
first bass was born in 1977. They knew they were on to something
and filed a patent for their creation. They continued to evolve
and make great bass guitars for the next 20 years.
In 1995 Geoff left the company and Rich Lasner who had worked
with Peavey and Ibanez took his place. Rich and his team worked
hard at perfecting the bass neck and they came up with the
Genesis series. A new style of neck that was much stronger.
They joined forces with Tobias and applied this new neck style
to bass guitars. The rest is history!
Today you will find some of the best bass players in the
world prefer their Modulos bass guitars over any other bass.
