| There are not many guitar
manufacturers that are well known for their acoustic basses.
You have Gibson and Fender and you know as well as I do that
these tow huge companies are not well known for acoustic basses,
they are well known for electric guitars but Micheal Kelly
Guitars quickly became popular due to one acoustic bass guitar.
In 1999 Micheal Kelly Guitars started in Clearwater, Florida.
Their passion for fine acoustic instruments got the attention
of some very famous players who instantly fell in love with
their products and you know if professional players love them
then they have got to be good. They also have to stand up
to the abuse that living on the road can dish out and these
basses fit the bill.
Currently there are three different acoustic bass guitars
available from Micheal Kelly and of course there is a 5 string
version of every one!
Starting off you have the Firefly. It is available in both
four and five string models. Pick one up and you will soon
see what has made them so popular. The Firefly has some of
the best tones you will ever hear in an acoustic bass. The
rosewood fretboard and maple top look and feel great. Plug
it in and it sounds even better. It is no wonder that the
Firefly is so popular.
Then there is the Club Custom. This great sounding acoustic
bass is all about sound. It features a solid cedar top which
helps to get that great tone you would expect to hear in an
acoustic bass and yes there is a five string model as well.
Let's not forget the super popular Dragonfly. This is the
acoustic bass that helped put Micheal Kelly on the map. It
looks absolutely fantastic and as soon as you start playing
one you will instantly know that you are holding more than
an acoustic bass guitar, what you have in your hands is a
true work of art. With maple sides, back and top you get an
awesome sounding acoustic bass. Plug it in and the built in
pickup and preamp will amaze you as well. If you are looking
for an acoustic bass guitar to add to your line-up, then check
out a Micheal Kelly acoustic bass, you will be glad that you
did.
