Applause Acoustic Bass

With a name like Applause you would think that everyone would be standing up and cheering for them and they are. You may not know this but Applause is made by one of the leaders in acoustic guitar manufacturing, Ovation.

Ovation was quickly becoming a huge success and they decided to try and re-invent their own special line of acoustic guitars. They wanted to compete with themselves, a smart choice.

A small team was collected and they setup shop in Connecticut. The goal was to simply create a great sounding acoustic guitar that could be manufactured with only one man hour of labor. That is quite a huge task but they were eager and up the challenge.

After several ideas, they came up with unique style neck and fingerboard. It consisted of aluminum and urethane foam. The end result was a neck unlike any other. It was light weight and had great tonal quality. It was so easy to play and it lacked the one problem that conventional guitar neck had. It was resistant to heat and temperature extremes which caused other guitar necks to warp and break. They new they were on to something. This acoustic guitar was extremely tough and they would market it that way. It was to become the guitar that you could take anywhere. You could take in backpacking or toss it in the back of the car.

They applied all of the same principals to making an acoustic bass. Once you get your hands on an Applause acoustic bass you will quickly notice the low end punch that they deliver and your hands will feel right at home on the neck.
